The Sierra Group Foundations' Job Board -- RecruitDisability.org -- Celebrates Anniversary
WASHINGTON, Nov. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- RecruitDisability.org, a leading career site and information resource, celebrates our job board's one year anniversary of linking businesses to qualified candidates with disabilities.
The Sierra Group Foundation launched this fast growing national job board -- RecruitDisability.org in 2012 in preparation for the recent OFCCP Rule enhancements. Since then, the site is successfully increasing job placement among individuals with disabilities- the largest group of unemployed Americans. Customers of the popular job board include Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, recruiters and agencies.
"Many more regional, national and global companies realize how important it is to include candidates with disabilities in their recruiting efforts. They are reaching out to us to fill jobs in many areas," said Geanette Floyd, Sales Manager at RecruitDisability.org. "We have experienced significant growth with unique visitors up 3,351% and the number of applications increasing 5,048%."
Staying true to our mission of always seeking "One More Way" to spread both training and job connections, this job board from The Sierra Group Foundation assists companies in recruiting as well as links to educate and energize disability hiring initiatives.
"Twenty years of hands on experience as a Disability and Employment service provider has driven us to create RecruitDisability.org a year before the OFCCP Rules caused it to become popular," says Janet D. Fiore, President of The Sierra Group Foundation, RecruitDisability Project. "Today we are seeing pop up companies attempting to come up-to-speed to serve this new niche."
The affirmative recruitment and retention of employees with disabilities and the growth in employer demand has increased due to enforcement directives and rule changes at the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), and the 2009 Amendments to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
As a recognized and trusted industry leader in disability employment, Janet D. Fiore 'walks the walk' by employing a staff comprised of 70% people with a disability. Fiore will be featured in the Disability Network's new "Best Jobs Report" where experts weigh in on the fastest growing opportunities.
